This conference will once again bring together experts from industry, government and academia to discuss the issues facing the influenza field. Topics will range from basic science of the influenza virus itself to pandemic preparedness to vaccination and clinical development. Attend this conference to learn, discuss and network with fellow scientists and researchers involved in various sectors of the influenza filed in an intimate setting.

The 2nd Influenza Research and Development Conference is part of our Infectious Diseases World Summit 2013 and will be held concurrently with two other tracks which are:

11th Vaccines Research and Development: All Things Considered Conference
10th Anti-infectives Partnering and Deal-Making Conference

Sessions for the Influenza Conference Are:

Virology and Pathogenesis
Role of T-Cells and B-Cells

What Past Delegates Said About the Event:

“The Influenza Research and Development conference was a unique opportunity to hear about influenza and the issues associated with Dual Use Research in light of the molecular changes in H5N1 that would permit respiratory droplet transmission in ferrets as well as strategies for future control including universal influenza vaccines.”
- Robert Webster, Rose Marie Thomas Chair, Division of Virology, Department of Infectious Diseases, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital

"I really appreciate this meeting; the audience was perfect for the subjects discussed and for networking in the influenza field. Different relevant topics were presented, from immunogenicity to FDA and BARDA updates, which made this meeting optimal."
- Sonia Trépanier, Ph. D., Director, Preclinical and Clinical Studies, Medicago

"The Influenza Research & Development Conference was an optima opportunity to share recent developments in influenza field, both for research and vaccine development as well."
- Emanuele Montomoli, Prof. on Public Health University of Siena ITALY

"It was a great meeting. The topics were focused yet covered all the subjects currently of high interests. The size favored very good interactions/networking. Importantly to me, the time allotted to each session and subject was just enough and everything was on time and well coordinated. Consequently, it was easy to go from room to room and cover different presentations/subjects and access to the site from the airport was only 10 min."
- Gary Kobinger, Head, Vector Design and Immunotherapy, Special Pathogens Program, National Microbiology Laboratory, Public Health Agency of Canada

"GTC’s Influenza Research & Development Conference in San Francisco, CA brought together outstanding researchers in virology, immunology and vaccine design. The meeting was highly interactive and offered great opportunities for both formal and informal exchange of ideas. Overall, the topics of presentation, the speakers and the attendees made this a highly stimulating venue for consideration of the challenges that remain in for generating protective immunity to influenza virus"
- Andrea J. Sant, Professor of Microbiology and Immunology University of Rochester Medical School David H. Smith Center for Vaccine Biology and Immunology
