Dear Colleague, GTCbio is proud to present its 8th Annual Vaccines: “All Things Considered” Conference to be held in Washington, D.C. on Nov 8-9, 2010. Vaccines ATC8 continues a tradition of presenting valuable updates and exposure to all aspects of vaccine development including research, manufacturing, regulations, investment, and policy in a comfortable, interactive and friendly setting. Vaccines ATC8 brings together the leaders in vaccinology from industry as well as from academia and the government for practical discussions of the future of our discipline. Many new discoveries and changes have occurred within the last year that affect the vaccine industry. The pharmaceutical world has recently been rocked by the pending expiration of patents on several major block-buster drugs. How does this affect funding for vaccine research and development? What will be the path forward? How will the generic drug industry affect the vaccines market? How will the new Health Plan affect vaccine funding? These are just a few of the questions the Vaccines ATC8 conference will address and answer. Recent advancements open the field to new approaches to develop and enhance vaccines for the traditional infectious diseases (such as Malaria, Influenza, AIDS, Dengue, etc), but also for immunotherapy for non-infectious diseases (such as cancer and Alzheimer’s). At the Vaccines ATC8 conference the leaders in implementation of these new directions present the latest advances that their companies and their laboratories are pursuing. Vaccines ATC8 has been the perfect forum to network as colleagues to gain valuable information on these next generation vaccines. Development of new vaccines truly requires a consideration of all things. GTCbio’s Vaccines ATC8 examines vaccine development from basic research through to marketing. We bring together researchers, manufacturers, executives, investors and government officials to interact and share their perspectives of the vaccine industry. Representatives from the DHHS and the FDA provide a first-hand perspective into current US vaccines policy and regulation. Updates on the pandemic and bio-defense policy as well as the National Vaccine Plan will be addressed and discussed. Don’t miss this opportunity to take all things into consideration. We look forward to welcoming you into our discussions of all things vaccines. Register for GTCbio’s 8th Annual Vaccines: “All Things Considered” conference. Sincerely, 2010 Vaccines: All Things Considered Organizing Committee
